With mental health concerns at an all-time high, there is desperate need for action to be taken in order to protect our kids. In August of 2022, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced a $4.7 billion effort to increase young people’s access to needed mental health services. The plan hopes to double the amount of school counselors available to students by offering scholarships to mental health workers.
